This fantasy portrait of a masked woman holding a globe was in inspired by a visit to Venice during the Mardi Gras. The costumed people and the elaborate masks are extraordinary. I was haunted by the expression on the face of this woman and had to paint her portrait. This painting has been done on a full size sheet of archival water-colour paper and can be easily mounted and framed.
Following a long and successful career as an educator/administrator, Myra has focused her time, energy and talents on watercolor painting. Her other passions also include a life-long love of playing classical music on the piano. She believes that her love of music, along with foreign travel and photography have contributed and enhanced her artistic development. Myra's art training includes numerous courses at Haliburton School for the Arts, Loyalist College, and the Blue Mt. School of Painting, studying with Jack Reid, Jacques Hebert, Art Cunanan, and Brian Smith.
